Amplify Texture 2 in UE4, whos interested?

Am I the only one who would buy this if it came out for UE4? +1 if you would buy it - show the developers you are interested. Right now they are working hard on the Unity version after that anything is possible.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe you would be able to implement this into the UE4 yourself if you owned the license? Isn’t that why the source code was made available?

Actually never heard of it before, would definitely be interested if they released a version for UE4. +1

It looks pretty cool if it can deliver on what it promises. If it can I would like to see it…Especially on mobile.

It’s base on Mega Texture: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MegaTexture

Does AT2 suffer from “texture pop up” like Rage? It’s quite annoying when I move the camera left/right really quick you can see the texture load a low res then upscale it to the full res in Rage.

They really looks promising. Also looking at Quixel and Allegorithmic. I think an important factor is going to be, which one is easiest to generate content. In terms of pop up I did see some of it in Aplifies youtube video, but I think with new gaming hardware this will be pushed back to be un-noticeable in future.

I would buy this for sure. Simple mari multi tiles to unreal would be wicked, and having a low texture overhead, even better.

Quixel and Allegorithmic are texture creation tools. Amplify is used to take thos already created textures and transform them into a proprietary format that is optimized for better loading and visual quality. They are on different ends of the pipeline, and should not be confused.

I think something like this could be great, but I don’t know if this is the right solution for Unreal.

I would pay for this yes! +1

found something similar that seems to do every Amplify can and more: http://www.graphinesoftware.com/products/granite-for-unreal

We are working with Graphine. They’re really great guys and very approachable if you want information or trials of their software.

I’ve worked with Amplify 1 in Unity before;
Not as good as what they have now in this 2 version, but was already great to use back then and devs are nice people.
Mr. Rodrigo Teixeira is very knowledgable and gives good support to their users.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll buy a license later this year :slight_smile:

Sorry to necro this post, but it’s slightly insulting that the indie license of Granite for UE4 is so much more than the Unity one.
