    Foliage Not Lighting Properly

I'm having this issue where my foliage isn't lighting, or rather I should say, shading properly. I've looked around at various forum and reddit posts, but I'm not sure what solutions apply to me, the few I've tried haven't done anything. I'm really not sure what the problem might be. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The foliage does have a very basic light/dark side (forget the technical term right now)

The usual reason for folaige glowing is too much subsurface color. Have you tried turning that down?
