A quick question, how difficult would it be to fix this issue with the point light when it has a length? Please see the image attached.

I know the quickest workaround would be to use rect lights but in my case this is not an option.

It's the only major issue I have with it, I'm extremely happy with it otherwise.

    Thanks.

Edit: I'm using 4.21 version, unified settings.
What about just using a emissive light card mesh as a light?

      Hi Whoosh,

I don't know if I can achieve enough light bouncing to properly lit the entire area. I could give it a shot though, thanks for your suggestion

If that doesn't work, can you think of anything else I could try?

      Regards.

Any help here please? All lights, meshes and materials are the same. By the way its not because of differetnt light units, even with 10000 intensity skylightI get almost black areas in those places, in 4.22. There are only two lights directional and skylight, both static. Also it is not project upgrade, I made 4.22 version first, and then recreated it in 4.19.

Guys urgent help, using the gpu lightmass im having out of memory error, but i dont understand, because all lighmaps are at max 512, lowest at 4, but how is the scene using the entire 6gb of video? I have a GTX 1060 and the scene is quite small, can someone help me?

          EDIT: SOLVE IT

I was using 4.21, now switched to 4,22 and worked perfectly, using insane quality and 1k lightmaps took 10 minutes.

Try to "clean" your cache in Swarm agent.

              Hello Everyone

I have recently started working on GPU render and I did the installation as given in the forum. But I am bit confused that the GPU is processing or not. Or my Pc is switching between GPU and CPU render. Need help in clarifying this. Some time my GPU goes 80% and CPU very low and some time its just the opposite. I did the installation in both ways and dident even got a error even the BAT file is working properly. But I am confused through progress bar and task manager usage.

Hey guys, just wanted to confirm something, I own an RTX 2080 and from what I checked it seems that the cuda cores in those work fine for GPU lightmass but the RTX cores aren't supported, doesn't that mean the 2900 cuda cores will work just fine? I'm a bit confused because I also heard some say that RTX cards outright don't work.

I'm currently using, 4.21.2, main topic says:
"4.21.0 Unified Settings: https://dl.orangedox.com/YtozAlX0QCNN57KXT2 (Turing cards support, requring driver >= 411.31, not using RTX)"

Just wanted to make sure that's what I should use and still have to rollback to those nvidia driver, i.e there's no new script..etc that changes those requirements.

Any help would be appreciated guys, I've been hearing mixed things about this but I'm very interested to try out GPU lightmass!

@ManuEx2 as long as you see that window with the title "GPU Lightmass Progress", you are using GPU lightmass to bake. If you don't see that window a little bit after you start baking, then probably you are using the regular lightmass.

Your CPU is still going to be used for some calculations, so don't worry about it, its not like its switching between CPU and GPU baking, it is just that GPU lgihtmass also needs the CPU to do some things.

                    Can I use luoshuang's GPU Lightmass 4.22 on UE4 4.22.1 ?

                    I can't downgrade UE4 to 4.22

                    Sorry for English Language

Yes, 4.22 works also with 4.22.1.

Hey! I have been having a strange issue with bounce light recently, maybe someone here knows how to solve it.

I am using an emissive hdr sky for the Skylight to capture, I also have a physical lights setup, so the intensity values of the emissive sky material as well as the directional sun light are really high. I haven't had any issues with this exact setup for months though, everything was baking fine, but now it seems like the light is not bouncing at all. I don't think I have changed anything other than maybe re-downloading the gpu lightmass. Has anyone had a similar issue and know what could be causing this? I feel like I have tried everything without any luck

                              I'm on 4.20.

Edit: I didn't think to try this earlier, but I grabbed an older version of the 4.20 gpu lightmass and everything works as expected now :O So what has changed in the most recent version that could be causing the issue I mentioned above?

They are all set so to get the most out of it, haven't had this on while i was baking on CPU.
Regarding to those fireflies, what worked for me to get rid of where the Sunlight directly hits was to set the FireflyClampingThreshold to 10.
Eventhough i ve got weird splotches around the whole scene. The scene also went a lot darker
