    Modifying Materials For Commercial Use

I have read that we are allowed to use Unreal Materials (such as those in the Templates) for a commercial game, but are we allowed to take those materials, modify them in another program (in my case I am using Gimp), and then reimport them back into Unreal to use for a conmercial game?

As long as it is still being used in UE4, I don't see why not. An Epic official may be able to confirm or deny, but I don't see that as being an issue.

That's what I was thinking. I know with most programs it is allowed as long as you do not sell the items separate/as your own.

Well I wouldn't use them outside of UE4 though. i.e. another engine. Just keep it in house and you should be fine.
