    I tried that but the problem seems to be in the reference because when I use a cast node, the cast fails.

    Try plugging AutoFire directly to the timer.
    And from "Pressed" you executed

    InputAction Fire > AutoFire (Call)

    AutoFire Event > Set Timer by event> SetTimerHandleVariable> PrintString"Should Fire"> Fire function"

    Function Not Being Called

    The player character is supposed to call a function on the gun but is doesn't? I've done some testing and it seems to be a problem with the casting but I don't know what.
