Embedding - Unreal Architectural Tours into Websites

    Hi,

I haven't "sold" a project with a web-tour yet but I gave it a try using the paid version of Kuula. They will host the images and you can set up the tour using their tools. It is pretty easy to do. Then you can just get and send the (simple) code to embed it into a website which gives you options like not to show the Kuula logo, the size of the image, etc.

Here is my proof of concept page where I tried it in a test project.

That's for static 360 rendering tours. Is there a site that is capable of hosting full VR walk-able tours exported from Unreal?
Sorry if this is different from what the OP was asking but I've always wondered.

If you want full 3D VR model over the web, it isn't possible currently at the quality ArchViz requires. Because the viewer still has to download or stream the content over the web which could be pretty big.
There are some streaming servers designed for gaming (similar to Teamviewer or other remote PC but faster) but I suspect lag will be issue with VR. Plus, you are not setting it up for specific VR device since you were referring to google cardboard.

Best option I can think of is render 360 video and upload it to YouTube. YouTube supports 360 video that you can look around. But not walk around obviously. You can check them out on YouTube. The camera path has to be pre-defined and I suggest the viewers to sit down before playing. I tested this before and while it works, it's not without flaws. In true 3D VR, system is only rendering your field of view so it looks sharp but in 360 Video, you are pre-rendering entire 360 degrees per frame. So even at 4k resolution, the area you're looking at in VR will look pretty low res. And it will be even lower res if you want to make it Stereoscopic.

I think the concept is similar to Streaming VM like ShadowVM.

VR has higher requirement so I'll have to try it to see if the lag is good enough for VR.

                Many thanks, kenpimentel !!

Indeed, you can use Furioos to share and embed your UE4 apps on any website.
We are currently working on implementing Pixel Streaming compatible apps on Furioos.
The Epic games team has done an incredible job on Pixel Streaming: according to our first tests, the quality is almost equivalent to an application launched on your PC.
We simplify the import, sharing and scalability process on Furioos
All you have to do is upload the folder containing your application.

If you want to be one of the first to test the implementation of Pixel Streaming on Furioos, don't hesitate to send me an email: christophe@obvioos.com
You can find more information about Furioos on our website www.furioos.com

                Cheers

Does furioos work with VR? How does it handle viewers using different VR devices? Also multiple viewers viewing same model?

                        Hi Tripod3D
                        Thanks for your message
Unfortunately, VR is not yet supported on Furioos.
VR requires at least 90fps as well as a very very very very very very very low latency
Our video stream is not able to achieve this kind of performance yet
                        Cheers

VR isn't something you're going to be able to stream, the latency is too high and that probably isn't something that will change.

Thanks for the answer. So, as I said in my original reply, these are not a solution to the OP's question.

                              Hi,
                              We finally updated Furioos today.
This new BETA now supports Pixel Streaming.

We have done a little tutorial here: https://youtu.be/VnNenOajk5U

Furioos also deal with everything related to VM creation, scalability, embedding and sharing among many other features.
Access is free during the beta, so feel free to come on board and give us your feedback.

Hope it will make your life easier.
                              Cheers,

                              Christophe
