    1000+ Skeletal Mesh Copy OK, Load Crash

    Hello

    I have to render an army with 100s of soldiers.
    On a 2070 Super, 4.25, Win10, I can go above 1500 skeletal meshes by adding them 4 at a time.
    It crashes past a certain point if I copy them in groups of 20 for example.

    But when I open a level with 200 already placed the gpu crashes.

    So it would seem that the skeletal mesh loading process has serious flaws... I can create a level with 1k meshes but can never open it again.

    I ran my experiments with RT reflections disabled, all skeletal meshes have monochrome unlit materials, and there's a directional light with no shadows.

    Odd, what engine version are you using? Do they have an animation blueprint/are they blueprints or just meshes?

      I'm using 4.25

      Just skeletal meshes with an animation asset.

        the animation asset may be the reason. Look into animation sharing and proper instancing for skeletal meshes.
