Leap Motion Integration ( In cooperation with Leap Motion )

    Hi guys,

My name is Alex, and I am student / programmer for a small London based software team called Indirection Software.

As part of our work on a yet to be released game, we have teamed up with the folks over at Leap Motion to bring a complete implementation of their APIs and technology into Unreal Engine 4.

We are hoping to have early releases of our plugin over the course of the next month, but this thread is to get the word out and to get some ideas and feedback from you guys.

Our initial release is heavily focused around getting the whole API integrated with blueprints and integrated with the demo projects that ship with Unreal. We will publish our full roadmap, issue tracker and source code ( We can't publish at this point because it isn't ready and we are still agreeing the exact license with Leap themselves [ Bracketception, it will be free for everyone with an Unreal License ] ). We're also really keen to hear about any projects or ideas you have for Leap once it's released, and any demo scenes you might like to see.

If you would like to know more please post your thoughts below or get in touch via PM.

    Thanks for Reading!

Interesting news. I have a Leap laying around somewhere. I'll definitely try out your work when it's ready

I am definitely interested, since I want to port my CryJenga game to UE4, and leap motion would be the perfect control device.

Very cool, Alex! I believe we have another community developer who is working on adding LEAP support to the engine, you might want to sync up with him and try to join forces! https://github.com/EpicGames/UnrealEngine/pull/112

I have a LEAP here on my desk and have been itching to try it in the engine, so I can't wait!

          That is fantastic Alex -

Have you guys made progress on this? I'd love to try out the skeletal sdk on UE4!

          Looking forward to hearing more...

            Cool! Subbing for future updates.

The few demos I've seen of Leap Motion look very promising - I want (terrain) editing using Leap Motion.

FYI - Looks like someone does have it working with 4.4: https://community.leapmotion.com/t/u...plugin/1108/29

Do you think there soon will be a good plugin for Leap into UE4 for mac?
                Really looking foreward to explore!)

Yes, I'm also very interested in what progress has been made with the Leap Motion integration. Any update?

This would be great! The only thing that is keeping our game from being developed on Unreal4 was Leap Integration, so we had been demoing with Unity. Can't wait until it is done!
