    [GAME] YAG (rpg gameboard)

    Hey everyone,

    I am developing YAG, a networked RPG table with UE4 in c++.

    YAG stands for "Yet Another Gameboard" and takes care of the following for you:
    • Dungeons: multi themed procedurally generated dungeons -using the amazing Dungeon Architect plugin-
    • Miniatures: hundreds of animated 3D characters and creatures (characters can be equipped with hundreds of weapons/spells/objects)
    • Dice: fully customizable 3D rolling dice
    • Character sheets allowing you to roll prepared dice formulas

    If you're really interested, there is a youtube tutorial videos playlist in english and french that will show you everything there is to know.

    Finally if you have time, you can read the full list of features.

    The game is mostly finished, i'm currently preparing the Steam page for a public release in the forthcoming weeks i suppose, unless a serious bugs is found in the meantime.

    EDIT: Yag now has a Steam page :-)

    I don't have a lot of testers so if you're interested in trying it before release, please PM me and tell me how many people you want to play with, i can provide a few steam keys for you and your friends.

    I only ask in return that you tell me everything that's wrong with the game so i can fix small things before release, or postpone the release in case of a catastrophy :-)

    EDIT:
    There seems to be some misunderstanding about what Yag is :-) so to be clear, Yag is not a game you can play alone, in fact it's not a game, it's really a shared rpg gameboard.
    You should see it exactly as a table in the real world: you have to sit around with friends to play any game.
    Yag is like a virtual table equipped with all the tools needed to play any game, and of course especially RPGs.
    You can launch it alone, for example to prepare a scene or a map and save it for later, but it's exactly like sitting alone at a real table to prepare your game.
    Yag gives you dungeons, miniatures, dice, maps, and character sheets, but you and your friends have to bring the rules and the game :-)

    2 news here:
    - v0.9.5.2 has been pushed on the main branch (you can go back to the previous version on the "previous" branch)
    - v0.9.6.1 is now available on beta branch.

    It brings a new feature: in game video cameras.

    It's mostly code optimization (lots of work^^) and bug fixes but brings also:
    - a bit of new content
    - new lights for more comfort in pitch black dungeons

    Hi,

    Yag v0.9.5.0 is now available on the beta branch with:
    - Bugs fixes and optimizations
    - Multiline fields in the graphical character sheet (=> easy inventory)
    - A new function in the LUA API to load any dice set from the lua code
    - A new checkbox in the character sheet lines to use at your convenience (automate any check/uncheck behavior)
    - A lot of new content (25 new animated miniatures)

    - record/replay displacement paths for pawns
    - some new animals and monsters
    - a new LUA API function to update the character sheet from anywhere

    v0.9.1.1 is on the beta branch.

    No new features but 1 Go of new content:
    - 8 new elemental dragons
    - a scorpion queen
    - a colored spider monster
    - a kung fu fighter
    - a light swordsman
    - a barbarian
    - a dwarf
    - a full collection of obsidian weapons
    - a full collection of frost weapons
    - 4 new statues
    - a few new treasure chests and pile of gold and silver coins for treasures and wealth

    Most of them come in many colors, offering a lot of possible variations

    Hello, I was searching for a good VTT for a long time, every one I find does seem to lack something that I need. YAG is a totally new approach from what I normally see. In the list feature I read that it lacks Fog Of War for perfomance due, that is something that i really need, coupled with character view and special view (darkvision and such).

    Have you thought about this system?:
    Every pawn (let's call it Character) has an editable sphere (radius, section, sight type) attached, that is his field of view. When the Fog Of War is active, every other pawn (monster, enemies, neutral NPC and map parts beside the terrain) is by default invisible to that Character until his sphere intersect other pawns, rendering them visible to that Character. In the same way, when the sphere doesn't intersect other pawns anymore, they return invisible for that Character.

    In this way, when the Fog Of War is active and a player is using a Character, he can only see what his Character sees, without the DM switching pawns between visible and invisible.

    I think that this way there would be some more work setting the invisibility for spells and such but I think that the DM would have a much better time when playing.

    Hey everyone,

    v0.8.4.3 is out on the beta branch.
    As always, i'll put it on the main branch when i've enough positive feedbacks from the beta.

    It brings a bit of new content and a lot of improvements in the UI.
    - a few new weapons
    - trays can be mouse dragged
    - new copy of the journal and list of CS on the portable desk
    - portable desk can be rotated to face the player
    - field labels UI get new options (frame and font size)
