    [TUTORIAL] Atmospheres: Wind Noise

The first tutorial in a series: how to create game atmospheres using your own sound effects!

Download the files here, including my audio assets: http://tbf.me/a/I37O8

In this tutorial we look at creating wind noise – a great signal that we’re up high or in an exposed place.

Mostly, we all try to avoid this sound because it's basically interference when we're capturing dialogue or sound effects. But when it's used well, wind noise can help create a sense of space and scale.

We make our own sounds using a phone or other mic, import them into UE4, and create a Sound Cue and Blueprint. We look at asset placement in a scene from Epic’s Infinity Blade: Grass Lands pack.
